We are planning to drive to Sintra from Porto with another couple. Is it worth it or we should take a train instead?
We know parking is a big problem in Sintra, but maybe we can park outside the city?? We will stay in Sintra for 3 nights and would like to explore the coastal areas. Do we need a car for that or public transportation/Uber will do?

A car is an issue in the historic area of Sintra. There are some parking lots where a car can be left close to the train station and then you can walk to the sites. I've only parked a car during the day, so not sure about overnight. Perhaps send a note to the place you are staying and see what they recommend.

I agree with the previous response about having a car in Sintra. We just returned from Sintra and I wanted to make a few suggestions: Tour guide - Sergio Mata +351 967 892 447 was fantastic. He's local in Sintra, speaks excellent English and was exceptionally knowledgeable and pleasant. You can easily communicate with him on whatsapp. Hotel - We really like Villa Bela Vista. Excellent location and beautiful views. Dinner - Tacho Real. One of the best meals we had in Portugal.
