Car Hire Faro Airport

I will be travelling to Faro Airport in June and want to hire a car for my 10 day trip.

I've looked at quotes from different companies but I am worried about the hidden costs that I keep hearing about. Whilst some say the fuel/insurance etc is included I'm concerned that I may get hit with other charges when I turn up to collect/return the car.

Can anyone give me first hand experience of companies who provide a quote that reflects your all inclusive price whilst still offering a competitive price?

Auto Europe is very good. I have used them for years and have always been very satisfied. The only hidden costs would be for tolls. The toll roads in Portugal are quite expensive, so they can add up. However, if you are staying in the Algarve, it’s possible to use the non-toll roads.

It can be a minefield hiring in Portugal and I have been stung before, the last 2 times I have used www.carhirebible.com they are partnered with rentalcars and check all the companies to compare prices. They are good because they give you a personailised service. Get in touch on their contact and say what you are looking for and they reply with all the options and extras you may be asked for at the location. Its also worth taking out a yearly excess cover so you dont worry about damage to the car.
