Caldas da Rainha

We are still trying to pick our next visit to Portugal. Has anyone visited this small city recently and care to give us some impressions? We are not surfers and like to wander about on foot. Not late-night people so nightlife is not all that important

Thank you in advance

I spent some time there a few months ago and enjoyed it. There is a daily produce market in one of the squares and a cute park as well as plenty of places to eat. Both the bus and train stations are within walking distance which makes it easy to wander to other nearby towns, and it's easy to get Bolt/Uber as well. You may also consider Leiria. It felt like a similar size and was also nice to walk.

We stayed there a couple of summers ago. Nothing special. Seemed like one large retirement village.
We visited the small market and the park, but other than that, not much to the city.
The entire place seems to close up in the evening. We found it difficult to find a restaurant open after dark.
Fortunately, we were able to get out and take the bus to Nazaré. So much better.
