Bus to The Algarve from Seville

I have not been able to find a online 2023 bus schedule for traveling from Seville to the Algarve, specifically from Seville to Lagos and then on to Salema . I tried the websites listed in The R.S. Portugal guide however one of them was an unofficial site and the other did not include any schedules for more than a week or two in the future. We will be traveling in April and I would like to see what our options are like for transport from Seville. Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I recall rather consistently negative comments about Salema on this forum (overbuilt, has lost its charm--that sort of thing). I haven't been there myself, but you might want to search this forum or post a thread asking for current opinions.

April is still early in the season for Salema - you may find restaurants etc not open every day, if at all. I would stay in Lagos, not Salema.

You really need a car for this part of the Algarve as public transport is thin on the ground.

Salema has changed significantly now it has tripled in size and its character has changed.

Thank you all for your responses. I am now second guessing the trip to Salema after reading many negative reviews of the town, e.g., "over built", "old town all closed up", "very difficult to get around on foot". We were looking for a rather sleepy fishing village type scene which would be worth the 5.5 to 6 hour bus journey from Seville. Has anyone been to Salema lately? Rick Steve's still speaks of it glowingly in his latest Portugal guide.

I can see and buy tickets for buses from Seville to Lagos in April 2023 on the Portuguese bus website - rede-expressos.pt. The bus is a code share with Spanish bus company Alsa. Just make sure to search for an international trip and spell Seville, Sevilla.

On April 12 for example, there are four buses; two in the morning and two in the afternoon taking either 4 hrs 45 mins or 5 hrs 15 mins.

The RS comments haven’t changed in the past decade, despite the place tripling in size.
