Bus or Train from Porto to Lisbon?

My family of five will be visiting Portugal in April. We fly into Porto and depart from Lisbon. Should we take a bus or train from Porto to Lisbon? Travel time seems to be around 3 hours for either option. We will have luggage. Thanks for any advice!

It's a personal choice, we prefer the AP train first class, the seats are wider and more comfortable, there are washrooms, a small snack back and we can get up and walk around to strecth our legs.

Either work well. The bus is cheaper if that is a consideration with so many people. But, neither is very expensive. Some of the buses have bathrooms. Gypsyy is one with bathrooms and they are surprisingly nice. A lot nicer than the ones on the train.

Thank you very much. Do you know if the bus has any luggage storage?

Bus are preferable if you have check in type suit cases. They are left in locked hold whereas on train you have to leave at end of the carriage.

If you take train, splurge for First Class (even if it meant downgrading to IC from AP) as bathrooms are cleaner and in general feel much less crowded

The buses allow one carryon and one checked bag size piece of luggage. I’m guessing you could likely pay for extra, but I’ve not done it.
