Bus from Nazare to Lisbon

We're planning a trip at the end of September and will be in Lisbon for most of it, but will go to Nazare for a few days and will then return to Lisbon to fly back to the US. It sounds like the bus is the best way to get to and from Nazare. Has anyone done this recently and do you have any recommendations? Would it be wise to book our tickets in advance using the Rede Expressos site?

It sounds like there isn't a bus station in Nazare, but that we simply catch the bus on the Avenue Municipio. Is that correct? And is the bus stop obvious? This will be our first time in Portugal and we don't speak Portuguese, so just trying to get our ducks in a row.

And on a side note, we are planning to do our pre-departure covid tests at the airport in Lisbon, but now we are wondering if we could get them done at a farmacia in Nazare. Any intel on this would be interesting!

I have no info on the bus, but know that farmácias do not actually administer tests. They sell the self administered ones. However, if you Google covid tests Nazaré, you should get some hits. As Nazaré, like the rest of Portugal, really needs tourists euros, they will have a number of places for testing.

Hi
The bus has several stops along way to Nazare, so make sure that you get off at the correct stop.
The bus stop at Nazare in on a street lay-by, however be aware that more than 1 bus route uses the same location.
I suggest you look at Google maps satellite view and also street view to give you a better sense of the bus street location in Nazare.
I always pre-buy the ticket when I use the Rede Expressos ( I buy direct from Rede Expressos and not from third parties) not just to guarantee the trip on the desired date but also because I can reserve the seat location on the bus.
Hope that's helpful.
Happy travels

We just took the bus from Lisbon to Nazare. Very easy. Bus "terminal" is on the south side just a few blocks from the beach. No taxis, but walking is not bad. Also suggest the OMIO app: excellent for bus and train reservations!
