Hi all, we will be travelling from Lisbon to Lagos Sept 21 2024. We are considering travel by either Rede or Flix bus. The online reviews on both are bad. Has anyone used either bus service and if so do you have a recommendation.
On that route I would take the train. See www.cp.pt
I don’t remember which bus line I took but it was fine, no complaints. I believe the train requires a transfer but the bus does not.
I’ve used Flixbus, but not to Lagos. From Cascais to Porto it’s quite nice. I’ve also used Gypsy. It’s even nicer than Flixbus, with double decker buses and decent sized bathroom on the bus.
Thanks everyone.
I used Flixbus to get from Porto to Sintra and it was fine. I took a train from Lisbon to Lagos and back. You have to switch trains in Tunes, but the second train waits for the first if it's running late and you literally walk maybe 10 feet from one to the other on the same little platform so there is no way to miss it. I generally think trains are more comfortable than buses, but either one works.
Lucky you to be visiting Lagos. I loved that little town and can't wait to go back!
FlixBus has always been great. Quiet and clean. Even make a ~10 minute pit stop about half way. But FlixBus operates out of Lisbon Oriente whereas Rede operates out of Sete Rio. We plan on taking the train next time just for variety.
