Planning to be in Braga Portugal during Holy Week 2024. Appreciate tips and insights into planning lodging, resturants and procession protocols. Are there hotels with balcony rooms along procession routes? Assume large crowds and the processions are like parades here; show up early and stake out a spot along the routes.
Thanks DS
We have been to the Holy Week in Braga, it's very crowded with faithful and tourists from Portugal and Spain.
Book your accommodation early.
There are different processions on different days and time of day ( day /night ) following different routes.
One of the processions ends at the church located on the same square that Vila Galé hotel is also located.
Another procession is in front of the Cathedral, no hotels there but Guesthouse within 50 meters.
Check the processions site for the routes and look on Google maps for the route landmarks and what hotels are nearby.

Other events happen during the week, traditional folk groups with traditional clothing and dancing, Feira etc.
