Braga (45 min drive from Porto): Is the Peneda-Geres park office there & open?

Traveling to this area of Portugal end of March. Seeking someone who's traveled there recently who could confirm that the Peneda-Geres National Park headquarters is in Braga and it's open for tourists to pick up hiking maps and other info about the park. I'm getting conflicting or even no results when looking online about their office even existing, never mind what hours they might be open. Any information much appreciated. Thank you.

HI aulopone,
Thank you for the link. I've read through it and it appears that it's not a regular visitor center / tourist office that we're looking for. It sounds like a great place to see if we had time but one needs to book a tour to go through the building to learn about it so it's not really a quick run-in grab some maps and check some info with the expert there.

Thank you though and hopefully someone else reading through the forum will be able to visit it.

Hi Gail,
Thank you for the link. I had not made the distinction between the 'official' entrances to the park at which one can get the info one needs and chat with someone there about it, and the regular roads into the park. Looking at where we'll be, and where we need to be at the end of the day, it appears we'll rely on the hiking maps we already have and forego stopping at one of the tourist centers at the official park entries. I truly wish we had more time. Thank you for taking the time to respond, and for the link you sent. It's great! Katherine
