Hi - My friends and I are going to be staying in Porto in September. We would like to do a boat trip up the Douro and do some Port tasting. Does anyone have recommendations on companies? I don't really want to do a full day. Thank you for any insight.

I don't think it will be possible to combine a Duoro boat trip and Port tasting in a half-day tour. If you are staying in Lisbon, you won't even find full day tour; the Duoro tours are usually from Porto.
Some alternatives are:
There are part-day tours that meet at a Duoro Valley location.
You can take a train or drive to Pinhao from Porto, visit a nearby vineyard on your own or hire a private guide, and take a boat ride, but travel to and from Porto will be an additional couple hours each way.
The day trip boat ride up the Duoro from Porto is about 6 hours for just the cruise.
For a full day Duoro Valley tour from Porto, I can recommend CoolTours Oporto. I chose and liked this tour because it was a small group-- about 8 people - in a van rather than a big busload of people -- but that was pre-covid. It included an hour boat ride, 2 vineyards, and a restaurant lunch.

Thank you! I put Lisbon by mistake but meant to say Porto. Any 1/2 days from there?
