We will be in Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, and Lagos. Have any of you found an at least somewhat reliable weather app for Portugal? Thanks!
Meteo@ipma is the official app from the Portuguese institute of meteorology.
Please note that all weather app are good only for approximate guidelines
In March, it could be pouring rain in Belem, hardly any drizzle in Rossio square and bright sunny in Saldhana.
And situation can flip in 15 minutes
Similarly, it could be hot and sunny in Lisbon while 15 nautical miles away in Sintra it could be foggy and windy and bit chilly
The weather forecasts are pretty bad in general. IPMA is probably the best but still not that great.
If there is an Atlantic storm, the rain forecast will be pretty accurate. Otherwise, the temperature forecasts are ok but the rain is hit and miss. The good news - rain showers are usually brief. Rarely does it rain all day. When I say rarely - I’ve seen it happen a handful of times in 8+ years.
