Suggestions for location for 6 (not couples) planning a trip to Portugal mid September. We are hoping to find a location that would allow us easy access to public transportation, local shops and restaurants, near a beach, and provide an outdoor space for relaxing. We want to explore Lisbon, as well as other points of interest. Hoping not to rent a car, so suggestions for getting around would be helpful.... uber, transportation vans, drivers etc. Walking up hill not great for some of us. Any suggestions for travel support businesses.... to help us plan better? We've looked at lots of houses in Caicais and Estoril ... not sure they are the best location for us. We hope to stay one week in one location, and maybe a few nights Lisbon before heading home. thank you for any help you can give us.....

Cascais and Estoril both have great public transport into Lisbon and, to a lesser extent around town. The buses in Estoril run once an hour, as do most in Cascais. The one exception is the 427 Buscas. It makes a loop around Cascais and is a great resource. If you can find something close to the Buscas route, with all the other things on your wishlist, that might be a great option. It would definitely be a question to ask the host of any vacation rental you are considering.
