Four of us are planning a trip in early November to Portugal. What would be the ideal 10 day itinerary? We are in our 70's. We love cultural activities, local crafts and food, and history. Based on the time of the year, should we concentrate on the southern half of the country? Thank you!

Your interests do not sound like a great match for areas south of a Lisbon-Evora line, which are more sparsely populated and with fewer cultural/historical sights.
Early November can still have some very pleasant weather. For a 10-day visit, and given your interests, a very "classic" itinerary tackling both Lisbon and Porto, and a 3rd location of your choice, would do the trick! Not very original, but sometimes you don't have to be!
Thanks so much! I was concerned that the weather in the north would be cold and rainy. I appreciate your response!
We were in Portugal last November…started in Porto and worked southward through Coimbra, Tomar, Evora to Lagos over two weeks. Weather was perfectly “spring-like”, sunny and some clouds around 70ish. Only one day of spotty rain! Weather in early December in Lisbon was not so good! Have a great trip!
Thanks so much! Did you also visit Lisbon? This is essentially my itinerary but I worry that it's too much. Thanks again!
Yes we visited Lisbon for 5 days but during the first week of December (at the end of our 5week trip). I would think 10-14 days to go from Porto south to Coimbra, Tomar, Evora and then west to Lisbon would work but you should miss the Algarve with so little time. hope that helps.
Thanks again! I really appreciate the help.
