Hello. Planning one overnight in Lamego in Douro Valley before driving on to Porto. What are some of the best ideas for what to see? Is grape harvesting still likely? Also, should I cancel my planned boat ride/bus into Douro Valley since I've changed my itinerary to include an overnight in the Douro Valley. Is Lamego a good spot? Found a quinta but we're not on the river.

I can’t speak to Lamego but I do know the harvest could very well be over by then.
I was in Pinhao the first weekend of August. They were starting the harvest early because of the extreme heat this summer. And they are having another extremely hot weekend this weekend. The whole area is very dry and much less green than normal. But, the friends I was with still thought the scenery was lovely since they had never seen it in a normal year.
