I'm going to Sintra in late May and have the option of spending a full day there on a Sunday or making two shorter trips on Monday (morning into early afternoon) and Tuesday (mid-afternoon until evening). I understand the major attractions can be very crowded on weekends so I'm wondering if anyone knows if crowds would be significantly less on a weekday. Thanks in advance for your help!

The best day to visit Sintra is on Monday since many of Lisbon's museums and sites are closed Monday. I am not sure why you have to split your days but Sintra takes a full day to visit since the mini-bus only goes one direction and it takes some time to work your way up the hillside. If Sunday is the only day you can give a full day visit to then that might be your only option.
