Best airlines from Porto to Paris (in November)

Greetings to Portugal wanderers - I am finishing a river cruise at Porto, Portugal in early November. (I know, kinda pushing the weather limits) and have flights booked into Lisbon but returning home from CDG 6 days later so I can have a little Paris time. I have not flown a regional airline since a disastrous Ryanair flight to Rome more than 20 years ago! A suitcase (carryon size) had to be checked, never to be seen again.

Would appreciate any insight into best airlines for Porto to Paris flight. Also as I understand the baggage, carryon and personal items rules are generally much more restrictive flying in the EU. I will have my Rick Steves spinner carry on and a large but not huge tote/ shoulder bag. Any experiences and suggestions you can share on preferred airline, favorable baggage handling, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
Merci!

I dont know your definition of "best" when it comes to airlines. Picking a random day the first week of November, Google Flights shows 4 choices. Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Transavia, and Air France. Of those, EasyJet and Air France get 4 star ratings by Skytrax. CAREFULLY read the baggage restrictions before booking. Expect restrictions to be stringently enforced.

You could also try TAP Air Portugal. It is my preferred airline within Europe and also to the U.S. these days. It’s a definite cut above the budget airlines, IMO. Their website can be a bit wonky. I just tried to look at flights and it was being wonky! Not certain if they fly from Porto but I know they fly from Lisbon.

I’ve flown all the airlines mentioned by the previous poster and Ryanair is my least favorite. I did fly Transavia a few years go to Paris from Lisbon for €59 round trip! Sadly, those days are over but since it’s a French airline, it might be a good option. They flew to an airport about an hour outside of Paris. But, there was a bus waiting for the flight and the bus was fine. It was worth it to me for the great price!

It looks like Air France is the only one that has direct flights.

If it were me, that's all I would need to know.

I am just looking at flights out of Porto to Paris for April next year and found the easiest and reasonable is with Easy Jet into Orly airport (my go to airline within Europe) Taxi into the city is less expensive than CDG.

I flew in March from Porto to CDG on Air France and it was fine.

Thanks to all of you. Although flying into Orly is appealing, I checked directly on the Air France web site and found a nicely timed and reasonably priced direct flight to CDG. So all is good.

Many thanks for those who have flown from Porto. It was reassuring.
