Belem and Cascais/Estoril in one day?

Is it advisable (not possible) to combine a visit to Belem and Cascais and/or Estoril in one day? We're trying to shave a day or two off our itinerary but don't want to be too rushed either. If this is not advisable we'd likely just cut one (probably Cascais and Estoril). Thank you.

It depends on what you want to see in Belem. The Monastery will take an hour or so, depending on how long your want to linger. If you walk from there to the tower, it’s quite a walk. But the Discoveries monument is fairly close to the Monastery, so easy to see in a fairly short amount of time. But, if you want to add on Pasteis de Belem, that adds a bit more time.
It would be a pretty long day, but you could end up out here in mid afternoon then stay for dinner. The train runs until after midnight. FYI - there’s not a lot to see in Estoril unless you like casinos. But, getting off the train in Estoril then walking the Paradao (walk along the bay) from there to Cascais is lovely and not an overly long walk.

The short answer is yes. Both are on the same train line. It takes about 45 minutes for the run from downtown Lisbon (Cais do Sodre) to Cascais. The trains run every 20 minutes during the day. There are many stops along the way including Belem and Estoril. If it is a nice day, and you feel like walking, you can get off the train at Estoril and walk a couple of kilometers along the coast and into Cascais. Google maps shows the location of the train stations.
