Hi. My husband and I will be in Portugal in September 2022. We plan to spend some time in Lisbon and Porto but we were interested in a beach location in between to unwind a little. I know there is Nazare but we are also considering Ericerira and Aveiro area. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

We spent a night in Sines. While the dry in can be disconcerting as the town is a major port, we found the beach area nice.
When we did a similar drive, we avoided the freeway and stayed as close to the coast as possible. Nice drive, great beaches and enjoyable slow trip.
We tend to avoid toll roads, not because of the cost, but because they can be very boring drives.
There are many little towns you could stay you could enjoy.

I like São Martinho do Porto. It can be very windy, but all western coast is as well.
