Barcelos Market as day trip from Porto -- Is it worth it?

First time in Portugal scheduled for next Spring. We will have 3 nights in Porto, without a car. Is a day trip to Barcelos for Thursday market day worth at least 1/2 a day of on of our Porto days? (We will have several other days in Douro Valley after Porto, so the Barcelos day trip would not take away time from Douro Valley, but we don't want to trek to Barcelos Market if it isn't worth it.)

It was interesting back in the 80s and 90s, but I have no current experience there. If no one else can help, try Googling. I think you'll find some mention of the market on at least a few blogs, etc.
