Bank Holidays in Lisbon

We will be in Lisbon for one day (regrettably not more) April 25, 2018 near the end of a trans Atlantic cruise. We arrive at 14:00hr and depart 22:00hr. In doing some early research I learned April 25, 2018 is a bank holiday and that many eateries (and a Food Walk tour I was looking into ) would be closed. How widespread will closings be on this bank holiday? Moreover, since we don't arrive until early afternoon, what places on the following list (if open on the Bank Holiday) will close around 18:00 hr and which will be open later?

  • Belem Maritime Museum, Monastary of Jeronimos, Pasteis de Belen (for pastel de nata)
  • Alfama Sao Jorge Castle, Decorative Arts Museum
  • Elevadors Elevador de Lavra, Elevador da Bica, Elevador de Gloria, Elevador de Santa Justa
  • Churches Se, Santa Engracia, Sao Roque

I know the Elevadors and Churches are some distance apart, but I'm only wanting to know what will be open. Thanks for any assistance.

consider a visit the underrated but fabulous Gulbenkian Museum which will be open till 1800. Realize that 3 of the "elevators" are funiculars, not elevators. San Justa, the elevator, is open every day of the year according to their website.

With only 8 hours, less disembarking and embarking time, it doesn't leave you much time in Lisbon. Traveling to Belem from the Praça de Commércio will take about 30 minutes each way. From the I press I've and scenic Praça, it's an easy walk to San Justa and then through Praça Rossio to the Ascensor da Gloria. The Jardin de San Pedro at the top offers a spectacular view of Lisbon. From there it's a short walk downhill to Sao Roque. After you leave San Roque, go left and keep walking downhill and you'll wind up on R. Garrett a restaurant and shopping area.

Sao Roque will be open till 1900. Santa Engracia (Panteão Nacional) will be open till 1700. Navy Museum open till 1800. Monastery till 1830. Pasties open till 2300. Arts Museum until 1700.

Enjoy your short time in Lisbon. It's a great city.
