Hi Victoria,
I sent you a private message with Azores information.
Without a car, you can hire a taxi to visit anywhere on the island. The other option is to check Tripadvisor for professional tour companies. Almost everything you need to know regarding places to visit is in my guide.
You could rent a scooter if that is feasible. Just stay off the highways. It would be a fun way of exploring the island and would be cost effective as well.
