Has anyone been to Azenhas del Mar, near Sintra? is it worth a day trip or a place to spend the night.

The location is quite impressive, but it's barely a village (not even sure that there is a hotel!), and there is no real beach either - a seawater pool has been created for bathing.
If you would like to spend the night on the coast, Ericeira, a bit further north, would be a superior choice in my opinion.

I used to live near here. Incredible views. Grab an ice cream from the ice cream stand & take a relaxing stroll through the village. At Azenhas do Mar itself, I'd allow for 1 hour for a quick stop & 2 hours if you really want to take your time. Just a side note - those images that come up on Google, clearly taken with a filter & photoshopped are a little misleading. Don't be expecting that. But it's still gorgeous.
That whole coast is incredible. Rent a car and explore.
It is worth the trip from Sintra!
