Alternative to kayaking in Lagos

OK, confession, I just put the kayaking in Logas on the wish list, we didn't have that on there before. My sister was on the crew team in College and I have owned a kayak in the past. The issue for both of us is it feel kinda like a herd people, too many boats, and touristy. But we would really like to get down into the caves and grottos. Are there any other options that anyone knows of that we could do? Thanks!

There are a number of small boat tours in Lagos. I’m not certain if they are up and running in April, but they are there. Another reason to not kayak is the very cold water in April..

We are from Oregon in the USA and cold water is the only thing we know. Our ocean waters never heats up, Burr!
Do you know if there are places to hike during low tide that would allow walking through arches and such?
Thank you

You can’t get near the caves walking even at low tide. If you want to see the amazing rocks close up, but no caves or grottoes, drive up to the beach at Carrapateira just north of Vila do Bispo on the west coast.

With the boats from Lagos Marina, they sometimes have to queue to get near the caves, but at that time of year, it maybe more a question of if they are running.

Thank you for the advice. If we decide to forgo the boat or they aren't running in April, does anyone have a suggestion of their favorite hike to view from above in the 2-3 mile range?
