We will be in the Algarve for 3 nights the end of August. We were going to stay in Salema but have heard there may be other places to stay. One suggestion is Tavira. Looking for suggestions on towns to stay for 3 nights and if anyone has an apartment rental suggestion for a family of 4 (hoping to get 3 bedrooms but 2 would also be ok).

Salema has been ruined by over development in the past decade and has lost its character. It’s on a very steep hill, if this would be an issue for your children. Tavira has far more character and its beach is out on the barrier island, reached by a short ferry ride.
You may have an issue finding accommodation for only 3 nights in peak season, as most people will want a full weeks rental.
