We are staying in Lisbon for 4 days then on October 27th heading south to stay in Salema for 2 nights. Hoping to visit Lagos and Sagres and see some of the beautiful scenery in the area. I realize it is end of season but wondering what to expect? Will most restaurant still be open or do places close for the season? We are driving down there on Sunday and returning to Lisbon on Tuesday. Hoping take a boat tour out of Lagos on Monday and enjoy some wonderful seafood. Looking for any and all suggestions. Thank you.
Salema has been ruined by over development. I would stay in Lagos where there will be more happening, but it’s a long way to drive for only 2 nights. It’s at least half a day driving each way, so you are only going to have one full day there.
I have been to the Algarve several times in mid October and have had some sunny days, but also some torrential rain. It’s always windy, particularly at the western end of the Algarve. Many of the restaurants and museums, like the rest of Portugal are closed on a Monday. There are many boat trips available from Lagos marina.
i am in luz right now. it's just west of lagos. it's an adorable little town. i recommend it. i had it booked for 3 nights, but, added a 4th night--we love it that much.
