Algarve in Late April 2024 - Location Recommendation

Greetings fellow travel enthusiast!!

My head is spinning with options regarding an upcoming trip my wife and I have planned this coming April.
We have 4 days to visit the Algarve and are looking for a nice location to stay.
We'll be arriving by train to Lagos from Lisbon and hope not to travel to far up or down the coast from there if possible.

Clean, comfortable and quiet is preferred.
We like to hike during the day and relax at night with restaurants close by.

I can't speak to hiking, but My wife and I settled on Tavira, it is on the other end of the coast from Lagos, but there is a train route that goes from Lisbon to Faro, then to Tavira.

Tavira is a smaller town, good restaurants, a bit of history, less hi-rise ex-pat condos, some of the best beach on the coast, even for just sitting or walking if the water is still a bit cool.

I like Lagos for a place to stay, especially if you don’t want to venture far. There are lots of restaurants and spectacular coast line.

Last September, we stayed 4 nights in Lagos and enjoyed it very much. I would have like to stay even longer. We had a rental car and made some day trips.
