Alentejo Wine Tour - Worth it?

Hello, I have an upcoming first trip to Lisbon for 3.5 days and I am looking to book a tour for one of the days. It seems that the most popular/common tour is Sintra/Cascais/Cabo de Roca. I feel like those places are not difficult to access and that we don't necessarily need to hire a tour guide to get us there. However, I noticed that one company has a wine tasting tour to Alentejo. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this? Is it worth spending an entire day? My wife is the wine lover between us, I'll enjoy it but do not appreciate it like she does. However, if the scenery and wineries are enjoyable, I'll enjoy the culture landscape.

Any thoughts? I really only have the budget to book one tour so want to pick the right one!

Thanks in advance.

We did not do a wine tour, but did spend a couple of days driving in the Alentejo. I thought the scenery was lovely. We also enjoyed tasting many Alentejo wines while staying in Evora and as the wine lover in my family I was very pleased! I agree, you can do Sintra and Cascais on your own.

My other thought though, is that you say you have 3 and 1/2 days in Lisbon. Sintra is a full day, and Cascais at least a half, which only leaves you 2 days for Lisbon. ( if you go to both)

If your wife is a wine lover, take her to the Wines of Portugal in Lisbon. These are great little shops where you can taste many of the wines of the region, for next to nothing, and they love to tell you about their wines.
