Alentejo in early March

Hi all,

We are traveling to Portugal Feb. 27-March 12; 2024 with our two small kiddos (not looking to get talked out of traveling with kids-tickets are already booked :) ). We are most into off the beaten path places where we can spend time just going on walks as a family and eating a good meal. We will stay a couple nights in Lisbon and then head down to the Alentejo region to an Airbnb. I am wondering if anyone has experience staying in Odeceixe or Aljezur or any other towns near those? They seem very very small but as long a we can hike and eat I think we’ll be content. After a few nights there we will drive to Seville, Spain for a few nights. From there we’ll head back to Lisbon.

I’m wondering if we will be missing out on much by not going all the way to the Algarve? We might still drive down to Sagres or do the seven hanging valleys hike.

Also looking for recommendations for a great coastal town in Alentejo (or what people thought about Odeceixe or Aljezur)?

Part of me will be very sad to miss out on the Duoro valley, but don’t want to spend our whole trip driving around.

Thanks in advance!
