Why is there such a dearth of information on the Alentejo Coast. From Melides to Vila Nova do Santo André to Santiago do Cacém to Sines have incredible beaches and countryside plus two of these are actually cities? Everyone seems to NOT report on this area, why?

I suspect because not many tourists get there. Perhaps the transport links are not there either?

It’s covered in the major guide books like Lonely Planet and Rough Guide. It’s a beautiful part of Portugal but you do need a car to explore.
