Airport transportation

The airport is very close to downtown Lisbon. Take the Metro or a taxi.

I’d suggest contacting your hotel and asking them for best transportation options.

If you’ll be experiencing jet lag, a taxi may be the best option.

The metro is fast and easy, if you don't have to transfer trains in the city (I found the signage confusing and there are stations with stairs only. Taxis are not expensive.

Most downtown locations require a transfer to get to the airport by metro, and the airport is so close that taxis come out cheap.

Yes taxi to the airport is inexpensive compared to other cities, but the metro is pretty easy too. We had to make one change on the metro but it was no big deal. Taxi is probably faster though.

Is a taxi the best way to get from LIS to Sintra as well? Approx cost?

I took Uber from Sintra to Lisbon Oriente train station on a weekday morning after most of the rush hour traffic It was about €30. From google maps, it looks like the distance to the airport is shorter by a few kms. Taxis are more expensive than Uber, probably not more than by 50%, maybe less.
