Any reports of what happened last weekend at the Lisbon Airport? Apparently baggage handlers (Menzies union) are striking every weekend in October, but I have been unsuccessful in finding reports of what happened last weekend? If you were traveling during any weekends this month, we're you affected? I guess this will encourage everyone to want to travel carry on only!

There are strikes scheduled for every weekend in October by the baggage handlers and other ground services. I haven’t heard much about them, though. The big news at the airport is the new EES process and problems it has created. They have gone back to the old process of stamping passports for now because there were so many problems. But, at some point, they will have to start the EES system. You might want to watch the news for it, as well as the strikes.
And, yes, you will be safest with only a carryon.
