Airport Strike Easter Weekend

Looking ahead I see there may be a strike at the national airports on Easter weekend (15, 16, 17) when I am to fly to Barcelona to connect with the BoSpain beginning April 18th. Do I feel trepidation now or put it off for later? Is there anyway to plan for this?

xanax! Seriously, strikes are ubiquitous all over Europe. The good news is they don’t always really happen. The threats are sometimes enough to get the attention and concessions they want. But, I’ve been impacted by strikes a number of times and, while frustrating at the time, things always worked out.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you and the many other people arriving during that time. Portugal is wanting to get the tourist business back to pre pandemic levels and this would not be the way to help that happen.

FYI- I think the proposed strike is baggage handlers but the lines at passport control have been really bad lately due to significant problems with SEF (agency that handles foreigners). If Portugal is your European country of entry, go to the toilet before you get to passport control and maybe get a drink or snack. You might be there awhile!
