Hi, fellow enthusiasts. We want a less expensive hotel near the beach and hiking. What is the public tranport like in Faro or those areas? Don't want to rent a car, either.

I don’t know about the city of Faro, but the Algarve as a whole has limited public transport. I can’t imagine seeing very much of the area without a car. The good news is that driving in the Algarve is quite easy, even if you have limited or no experience driving in Europe.

Vamus is the Algarve bus company, however route coverage is not as extensive as we would prefer.
