Asking for advice about driving in Portugal

We are traveling from Gibraltar to Lisbon in June 2025, and were thinking about driving ourselves instead of having to head back to Malaga and fly from there. We understand that the trip will go through Seville and take about 7 hours. We don't mind the long drive but after reading this forum I was wondering about how good the signage and the roads are along that stretch. I would appreciate any insight you all may have on this!

The roads are not a problem at all.
The problem you will face is that renting a car in Spain and dropping it off in Portugal is prohibitively expensive, so unless you go back to Spain in the rest of your trip, I would just drive to Seville or Malaga airports and fly to Lisbon.

Thanks for your response! Yes, after looking at other sites, I have come to the same conclusion. I appreciate your advice, I always trust the info I get on this forum.

Somebody asked a similar question not long ago. I did a dummy booking, renting in Spain and dropping in Porto, and the drop off fee was $868.
