Accommodations with Walking in Douro Valley

We are planning our first trip to Portugal and have been thankful for all the accommodation recommendations in the forum. Sometimes people mention the ability to walk on public paths and/or through vineyards. While I love wine tasting, alcohol affects my husband’s medications—so it’s not nearly as fun for me anymore! We are looking for a place to stay that has wine tasting, serves dinners, and has easy access to walking trails. Not crazy hard walking, but 3-5 mile routes that we could walk together (and then he can chill while I sample wine). Can anyone speak to the walking aspects of recommended lodging? We have reasonable but not extravagant taste and budget. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Are the walking paths restricted to their property or are they linked to longer trails for substantial hikes?

We're looking for the same thing. Our problem is we don't have transportation but are hardy walkers. I've got a request into Quinta de Todo but no response yet. Any suggestions out there?

From Quinta do Tedo website, this link may answer some of your walking path questions. I also stayed at this Quinta and loved my experience- even walking in misty Spring rain. The birding was limited at the time because I set out on my walk a bit later in the morning due to the rain. Hope you enjoy this “pamphlet”
