ACCOMMODATIONS with a little less climbing?

Greetings! Any recommendations on lodging in both LISBON & PORTO with somewhat easy walking (under 15 min to metro, less than 2 flights of stairs in lodging)?
Thanks so much in advance!

In Lisbon, you have many hotels with elevators in the flat part of town between Rossio / Martim Moniz and the river.
A long, long time ago I stayed at the Mundial and it was excellent. Reviews still look very solid.

In Lisbon we stayed at Meraprime Gold in Baixa. Close to Baixa/chiado metro station. We used Uber and taxis instead of Metro in both Lisbon and Porto. Very affordable and saved walking/ waiting for metro.

In Porto there is a new Hilton Tapestry collection hotel near Se Cathedral and entrance to San Bento train station. The lobby was very nice and they have an elevator. We stayed across the river in Gaia at 196 heritage apartments in a river view studio. Great place with an elevator. Up hill to metro though. We used Uber.

Happy planning!

Hello from Wisconsin,
I wish I had built a map of the ways to get from up on top to down below and visa versa, when I was fresh back from Lisbon. Rule number 1 is don't walk up those hills up. There are escalators, elevators, and trams that will do the work for you. Most are free. Especially Chiado/Baixa. On a simple Google map only the Santa Justa Lift is shown. And that one has a fee.

Here is what I find by searching Lisbon funicular.
Funicular Lavra, Gloria Funicular, Elevator do Lavra, Elevator da Bica, Baixa Chiado Metro station escalators that are fantastique, all white marble and stainless steel, Near this B-C Metro stop is a department store, Armazens do Chiado, where you can ride their escalators up and down, then there is Elevator Castello, Lift Santa Luzia, and Tram 28 will get you either side. I will stop and await corrections/additions from people who have visited Lisbon or live there.

Rick, for Pete's sake why isn't this information in your guide book for Lisbon?
