8-10 trip starting April 17th

Starting to plan a trip to Portugal for 4 adults (ages 40 and 65). We would fly into Lisbon and spend a few days and then are thinking of going to the Algarve region by train for a few days.

Any advise would be welcomed. I have not researched day trips / excursions from either place yet.

Would it make sense to spend a day along the coast in Sintra or Cascais?

Does it make sense to fly into Lisbon and out of Faro , or simply take the train back to Lisbon and fly home.

I realize this is very vague but I am just beginning to plan the trip.
Thanks

Yes, it makes sense to spend some of your time in both Caiscais and Sintra. We have spent time in Portugal and recommend that you also include Evora and Coimbra.
We have never had any interest in visiting the Algarve so can’t help with it.

If you can fly in and out of Lisbon and Faro that would be perfect. Both Sintra and Cascais are day trips from Lisbon so no need to spend the night.
You may want to take a direct bus from Lisbon to Lagos (3h 45m).

Easter is April 20, 2025. Is it possible to delay the trip until about the 27th on? The holidays brings in more crowds, and some places may be closed Easter and Easter Monday.
In any case, have a great trip. Safe travels!
