4 days between Lisbon and Porto itinerary

After our bike tour (Alentejo) which returns us to Lisbon, we are planning to rent a car to explore the area between Lisbon and Porto.
Here's what I was considering but welcome input.

2 nights in Nazare (essentially one full day) with stops in Peniche on the way there. Alternatively we could stay in Peniche or Caldas da Rainha.

Leaving Nazare we may stop in Alcobaca (Monastery) and Tomar before driving to Coimbra

2 nights in Coimbra - one to explore the town and on day of departure visit Roman Ruins, possible stop in Aveiro on way to Porto to return car and spend a few days there. If we stay in Coimbra, any suggestions for decent and quiet places to stay?

Thanks!

Alcobaca, Tomar and Coimbra are worth a visit. As is a quick tour of Obidos. I would skip Nazare and Peniche.

Nazaré is a typical beach town like you find in the states. I know nothing of Peniche. I feel your time could be better spent with two nights in each Tomar and Coimbra. To me, Aveiro is worth an hour or so. We too stopped there en route to Porto. There’s a large free parking lot along the one canal at Parque dos Remadores Olímpicos.

You could stop at Alcobaca en route. In Coimbra we stayed at Hotel Mondego by one of the train stations. It was easy to reach. There are a couple free parking places at the hotel and if they are full there’s a garage nearby. If you needed to do laundry there’s a small laundromat, Lavandaria da Baixa, a couple minutes walk from the hotel.

At Alcobaca there is a large free parking lot at Parque de Estacionamento da Cova da Onça de Alcobaça. If you stay in Tomar we stayed at Thomar Boutique Hotel. There are a couple free parking lots right by it and the Convent of Christ is a 20 minutes walk from it. The parking lot at the convent is a pay lot.
