3 week stay in Lisbon with a toddler

My husband and I will be in Lisbon for 3 weeks in June with our 2 yr old son. I am looking for information about playgrounds, parks, walking/hiking in the area, indoor play areas/children's museums for rainy days, ETC. Basically everything around town to do with a toddler that is pretty cheap or free. My husband will be working remotely during the afternoons/evenings so my son and I will be free to explore the city together. He is a very active boy, I need to keep him busy for my own sanity!!!

We saw quite a few playgrounds as we walked around Lisbon. What area are you staying in? Two that I remember are near the Pantheon ( Graca area, near Alfama) and market there is a nice playground for kids. Also going the other way, the Jardim de Estrela is a lovely big park which had some playground equipment, banyan trees, it was a beautiful spot to spend an afternoon, as well as a nice little restaurant right in the park. You can catch the 28E trolley to get there ( although it is often very crowded)

You might also enjoy catching the train to Cascais, and just enjoying the beaches there.

I went there last summer with my 2 year old twins. We stayed right off of Ria Augusta, which was great because it was so central. There are tons of hills and steep areas in Lisbon, which can be tough when you're pushing a stroller. Most of the restaurants didn't have high chairs or the high chairs didn't have seat belts, but we managed. We loved the following:
-The Oeanaria aquarium
-The Science Museum (Both of these were a bus ride away in the outskirts of the city.)
-In Alfama the Jardim Botto Machado has a nice shady playground (Many, many hills going up to the Alfama)
-The Castelo at the top of Lisbon was really great. We took the Elevador Castelo to get up there. (It's in a Pingo Doce grocery store) We locked up the stroller to a park bench and walked around the grounds with the twins.
-We went to a playground at the Jardim do Torel (which requires a ride up one of those old-school trolley car style lifts - Ascensor do Lavra (have to collapse the stroller) This playground can bake in the sun since it's not shaded at all, but the view up there is awesome.
-Belem was a hit with my kids as well. We enjoyed walking around the Jeronimos monastery and visiting the park nearby with the extensive playground and sprinklers.
-We took a daytrip to Cascais - which was a very long train ride away. The beach was nice with calm water that one of the twins liked. The other twin thought the water was too cold. (This was in July)
