Interested in staying near the city center, Where should a couple in their early 70s stay?

I like the Rua dos Flores area. It’s close to Sao Bento and quite flat. Lots of restaurants, too.

We stayed at NH Porto Jardim and liked its location and the hotel itself. We walked everywhere and are only slightly younger than you. It is on the edge of the city center.

Our RS Tour ended and stayed two nights at the Grand Hotel do Porto — we found it to be grand!
And our second day the group walked to-and-from downtown. We are in our early 70s but like to walk.
Yes it is hilly and until you are there you might worry. We did. Next time we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in the Grand.
