We are on our way to Porto and would like to take a day trip out to Douro Valley with our 10-year-old. We would love a few recommendations for a winery to tour and taste, ideally not too far from the Pinhao train station, but we could taxi. Ideal if the winery has a fantastic restaurant as well! We will also do a 1-hour boat up the river. I’ve don’t the research, just haven’t figured out our best bet for a winery and lunch. I looked at Quinta de la Rosa but the tours say with no kids or must be 12+. So any advice on all of this would be much appreciated!

Since Rosa won’t work for the tour, you might tour one of the other wineries in the Pinhao area, then lunch at Rosa. Their restaurant is very good with great views. (Be sure to have the truffle mashed potatoes) If you google wineries Pinhao, it will give you several to try in the area. There are always taxis at the train station when a train arrives from Porto if you need transport.

That is a great idea. Any suggestions for family friendly wineries that have nice tours and wine tastings then?
