Sintra Hotel Recommendation

Chalet Saudade. Lovely small hotel. And around the corner, they own a nice restaurant where you have the breakfast that is included in the room rate.

I concur. Don't make the mistake we did our first night there of being locked out of the inn when we came back from dinner. I don't remember the details but it was totally our fault for not following instructions. Their restaurant is also very good. Either the husband or wife, I don't remember which, is American.

Another recommendation for Chalet Saudade. I went to Sintra for two days prior to the RE Heart of Portugal tour in March. They are so helpful (and the breakfast at their cafe is so tasty). The weather wasn't the best so they suggested I go to the Pena Palace the first day I was there as the next day it was scheduled to rain. Glad I heeded their advice. Although seeing the Moorish Castle in the rain was beautiful in its own way.

Thank you, again. We are going next April after the Best of Sicily tour and before the Best of Portugal. Looking forward to being able to relax a bit between tours in this beautiful town. And now have reservations for this hotel!
