Review Casa Kala, Boutique Hotel in Porto

We recently stayed at Casa Kala in Porto, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home.

The location was perfect for us, just a short walk from Mercado Bolhão and Rua Santa Catarina, which made it super easy to explore the city. Porto is very hilly and we took Ubers a couple of times to move around or come back to the hotel. We found it very accesible and plenty of cars around, not having to wait long for a ride. Despite being so close to the main shopping street, Casa Kala felt very peaceful, especially with its beautiful garden where we could relax. We loved the hanging chair.

Our room was on the ground floor, bright, spacious, and spotlessly clean. We had a King Size bed, which we always look for when travelling as Im more of a bigger guy. There were only 8 or 9 rooms, no elevator, but a beautiful staircase (we never used as were on first floor) The attention to detail in the design really stood out, the architecture is beautiful and the renovation of a very high standard. I can say one of the best places we have stayed.

Breakfast each morning was very good. Including fresh fruit, and eggs prepared to our liking, and delicious pastries like natas. We loved having the choice to eat indoors or outside in the garden.

We also attended the Wine Tasting and Fado event, which was a highlight of our stay. The wine selection was excellent and it was very informative. ,The artist is so good, definitely something we would highly recommend to other guests.

Overall, Casa Kala exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto and can’t wait to return ourselves.
