A friend and I are starting our pilgrimage walk in Porto late Sept. Any hotel suggestions near there? We prefer staying in Porto, not Vila de Gaia or Matosinhos areas. That said, I don't care for hotels too close to the river and nightlife, unless you think they're not too loud at night, Obrigado!

The Camino goes through Porto-you start anywhere its marked in the city. You should get your Camino passports ASAP so you can get them stamped as you go along.
WE used Caminoways.com and they were a real help getting us organized- you can't get the certificate at the end without a verified Camino PP!

We started our Camino in Porto staying at Being Porto https://www.beingportohostel.com/
We had a private room and bathroom. We found it to be pleasant, clean and a good location. Nothing fancy.
If you have the chance take the Spiritual Variant. Incredible towns, monasteries and scenery along the route.
