budget hotel in Lisbon

Does anyone know of a good budget hotel in Lisbon in the downtown area. This would be during Easter Week (March 21-24) and it seems prices are high at that time.

hey hey elainebhc
what is a "good budget hotel" mean in euros and how many people/beds? any other amenities (A/C, mobility issues, climbing stairs/steps with luggage, check cancellation policies)
prices are high during the holidays all over europe and you are late reserving a place. i would look at booking.com and place your filters in and see what comes up and what you're comfortable with and book it. good luck

The Rick Steves guidebook on Portugal also lists some budget accommodations.

Thanks. I am holding a reservation that can be cancelled. I am just uncertain about the area since it's not in the "center." It's the Moxie Lisbon City. Some people indicated that it wasn't within walking distance. And I realize "budget" means different things to different people. Some people I know mentioned the Eurostar but it's very expensive for those nights. I was thinking of something along the lines of $100-$130/night for a twin-bedded room - breakfast isn't important. Plus I don't think we'll be spending a lot of time at the hotel so I generally don't like to spend a whole lot for just a bed. But, I also like a convenient, clean place.

We stayed at Hotel Lis Baixa. I paid about 110 euro/night. I booked thru booking.com. If interested in the hotel, I would try to book directly. I felt like we got a less desirable room because we went thru Booking. We've used Booking quite a bit and this was the only time I've sensed that we had a substandard room.

I just made reservation for October and you are right that isn’t center city. But it is walking distance from a metro which you can take to get there.

You just may have to compromise on location to get the price you want. There are some cheaper air bnbs that I saw when looking so that might be another option. Many are central-a little too central for my tastes as I am noise adverse.

stayed at Be Poet Baixa in the Baixa neighborhood of Lisbon. Very convenient. Great Location. Very good breakfast comes with booking. Nice staff, etc. Rated very highly on booking.com. Can walk or take puvlic transportation to mostly everywhere.
