In downtown Zakopane, Krupówki is the main drag. However, other than this, what streets/town sections are fun to walk along with lots of shops, eateries, and traditional markets? Thanks.
Hi,
Zakopane is rather small town and the majority of shops and restaurants are located on Krupówki street. If you travel by car, then it's great idea to go to Slovakia.
Quite close to Zakopane there are some nice places too:
Štrbské Pleso
Slovak waterparks
Tatranská Lomnica
Not sure there is such an area that isn't tourist-oriented. But I do recommend you visit the cemetery - very interesting.
On the way to Slovakia stop at Morskie oko (sea eye) very beautiful lake right under the highest mountain of Poland - Rysy. From Tatranska Lomnica (in Slovakia) go by cable car up to Lomnicky stit - the second highest mountain of High Tatras. Gorgeous scenic views. In Strbske Pleso stay in hotel Kempinski- the best one I ever stayed. View of the mountain lake with a background of alpine peaks. Indoor pool with chandeliers and windows floor to ceiling with priceless views.
