Highwater is a Netflix series on the 1997 floods of Wroclaw.
I found it quite interesting and thought others might enjoy it, especially those who have travelled or plan to travel to Wroclaw.
It is in Polish with English subtitles.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm imagining the potential for disaster.
Thanks for the suggestion. We loved Wroclaw
Thanks, i just added it to my watchlist.
Appreciate the recommendation. Appears similar in style to HBO's Chernobyl.
Thanks again for posting this. I finished watching the 6 episode series last night. I had no idea about this history.
Of course it was terrible for Wrocław, but also an interesting story about the political dynamics with an approaching election, disaster preparedness, public perception and the influence of media, local interests vs the "greater good" of the city and the human interest stories.
This would be a great show for anyone planning to visit Wrocław, and would certainly give you a different view of the bridges of Wrocław - of which there was a tour when I visited - and the rivers that cross through the city.
I haven't found anything to verify whether zebras actually escaped and ran through the streets. Regardless, it made for a humorous moment in the show, which apparently tracked pretty closely to the actual, big picture events.
