Wieliczka Salt Mine

How far ahead should timed tickets be purchased for the "tourist route" at the salt mine? (in order to help ensure getting tickets at a preferred date and time)

I visited Wieliczka in 2015 and 2022. Both times I bought the tickets on site and waited 30 minutes to enter the mine. I'd say you could do that or order them two days prior.

I heard that there is a church in the mine, does the "tourist route" allow you to see that?
(I found the website a bit confusing)

When will you be visiting? I was in Poland in late April of 2024; we arrived at the salt mine in the early afternoon and bought tickets on site. We waited less than 30 minutes for our tour. I thought it wasn't busy at all, but it may be very different when you visit. We purchased the "Tourist Route" tickets and did see the chapel. Stunning! If you have time, be sure to stay for the museum tour. We just missed a tour so decided to have a beverage in the underground cafe while waiting for the next tour. My husband and I ended up getting a private tour, as no one else stayed on. It's an interesting museum, and our guide was fantastic! It was great to hear his personal stories, as his father and grandfather both worked in the mine.

schillpaw: Yes, the tourist route goes to the church, which I saw both times.

As a minor note, I noticed that the "tourist route" changed: They showed us more on the 2015 visit compared with the 2022 visit. Maybe it was just because of the day I visited on the latter trip. I hope they show the entire route when you visit. Regardless, Wieliczka is worth visiting.
