Looking for recommendations for budget accommodation ($50 or so) for both Warsaw & Gdansk. Prefer near the Old Town.
I'm a budget traveler but have had to pay more than that in Warsaw (2018 and 2023) and Gdansk (2018). Time of year could make a big difference--Poland is mostly a summer destination, I think. And it also matters whether you need a room for two or more people.
I use booking.com for my lodging research and often book through that platform as well, but sometimes you can save money by going to the hotel's website. I've found the reviews on booking.com reliable; you can't leave a review there if you haven't actually stayed at the property.
Thanks! I'm planning mid to late September visit & just started to look into lodging.
I think that will be past peak season in those two cities, which should help with the cost. If possible, you might try being in Warsaw (a business city) over the weekend and in Gdansk (more tourist-oriented) during the week. I think that might help reduce lodging costs, but I'm really just guessing.
In Sept 2022, as a solo traveler, I ended up staying in apartments in both of those cities - mainly for cost. They were very conveniently located to the old town areas and I stayed in hotels in other cities. But for me the apartments were best value in those towns. In Warsaw, I came in close to your budget. In Gdansk I spent more than that. I reserved both through booking.com.
Can anyone tell me the name of the hotel(s) that Ricks Poland tour recently stayed at in Warsaw? Rating? Also Gdansk, rating?
Thank you to all to responded to my post.
