I am planning a trip to Slovakia while visiting Poland to see villages where grandparents were born. We will be leaving from Lublin, Poland and heading to Bratislava, Slovakia and wondering if anyone has ever hired a driver to take them as the driving trip is only 7 hours but the train can take over 11 hours.

Seven hours sounds overly optimistic in my opinion (roads in Poland are very busy, even google maps show >8hrs) and you will have to take toilet breaks along the way that will slow you down even more.

Plus the time to go in and rent the car, pick it up, etc, turn it back in.
Make sure you are allowed to take the car into Slovakia and know what one-way rental fee you may incur
